
Joanna Noelle Levesyue aka jojo was born in Vermont on 20th December 1990and rased in foxborough Massachusetts and is of French, irish, Polish and Native american decentShe grew up in a one-bedroom apartment on the outskirts of Boston, in a low-income family. Her father, Joel Levesque, is a blues singer and her mother Diana sang in a catholic church choir and worked as a house cleaner. Her parents divorced when she was three, and now lives with her mother in New Jersey. Jojo started singing when she was two years old by immitating her mother. When on the A&E’s show ‘Child stars III: teen rockers’ Diana said that jojo had a borderline genius IQ.
Jojo sang Aretha Franklins 1967 hit ‘Respect” on the television show ‘Kids say the damdest things:On the road in Boston, and it wasn’t long after that ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ contacted her to perform. Jojo also sang on one of the frequent “KidsWith-Talent” epidodes Maury along with many others.
record producer Vincent Herbert contacted her and asked her to audition for Blackground Records. During her audition for Barry Hankerson, Hankerson told her that the spirit of his niece, the late singer Aaliyah, had brought her to him. She was signed to the label, and had recording sessions with famed producers like The Underdogs and Soulshock & Karlin. At the age of 16 jojo is and american pop and r&b singer, songwriter, record producer and actress. Jojo rose to fame at the young age of 13 whith her Platinum-certified debut album ‘jojo’ reaching 34 on the U.S billaboard charts reaturing the hit single “leave (get out). Her second album ‘The High Road’ was released on October 17th 2006, in the sumer of 2007 jojo will be on tour in the U.S and Europe.
Jojo has stared in two hollywood films includeing ‘Aquamarine’ alongside Emma Roberts and Sarah Paxton, and ‘R.V’ along side Robin Williams.
